Catalogue description

"And 15 plus two, 101!" Pongo appears with four of the 101 dalmatian pups in the lovely trimmed production cel in this lot. The hand-painted production cel from the feature film 101 Dalmatians, based on the 1956 novel The One Hundred and One Dalmatians by Dodie Smith, was originally sold at Disneyland's Art Corner store in Tomorrowland. The film was a huge success and has expanded with several live-action films, a direct-to-video sequel, and two animated television series. You can find Pongo early in the film at about 4:50 as he searches for a suitable "mate" for both he and his owner Roger, gazing out the window to take a look at the eligible dog-owners walking down the street. The pups appear near the end of the film at roughly 1:17:42 after Roger and Anita are reunited with their own pets and the many, many dalmatians Cruella had intended to use for their fur coats. Four of the five characters are full figure and measure about 7.25" x 6.5" combined. They are displayed on a print background from the film for presentation purposes and presented in a 15" x 13" glass-fronted frame. All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. The reverse includes the Art Corner sticker. Good condition with light handling wear and faint ripples on the cel.
