Tugboat Mickey Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing

"Let's go, crew!" Mickey calls to his faithful crew of two, Donald and Goofy, after he hears the distress call from a sinking ship. This Clyde Geronimi-directed short was released in theaters on 4/26/1940 and is the last of the five Mickey boat shorts. It can be found at about the 2:17 mark when Mickey, dressed to impress in his captain's jacket, rings the ship's bell and gets his crew's attention. He tells them they need to get the ship ready for a rescue and chaos breaks loose, everyone scrambling to get there in time. This spectacular drawing is beautifully rendered in graphite with color pencil and measures about 6.75" x 7.25". It is noted as 53 in the lower right corner with the initials B.V. This full figure mouse includes two small notes. This fantastic lot is in Very Good condition with only minor edge and handling wear, light age-related toning, and faint wrinkles.
