Tarzan Kerchak Employee-Only Limited Edition Cel #14/28

"You may be willing to risk our safety, I'm not." Gorilla leader Kerchak warns the tribe not to interact with the human strangers despite Tarzan's objections, in this scene from Disney's animated film based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' literary jungle hero. This rare hand-painted special cel was one of 13 offered for sale exclusively to Disney crewmembers who worked on the film, with edition sizes based on orders; this is cel #14, of which only 28 were produced. None were offered to the public, and no production cels were used in the film. These special cels were made in Burbank by the Disney Ink and Paint Department, using archived animation drawings; the scene-matched background is a print, added for presentation purposes. You can find this image at the 46:59 timestamp. Kerchak's image size is approximately 4.5" x 5.5"; the overall cel and background print size is 17" x 12.5". A Walt Disney Feature Animation seal is on the cel's lower right; a Disney Certificate of Authenticity is included. Cel condition is Very Good to Fine with light handling.
